In X-Telcom’s palm vein solution, the system not only uses near-infrared (NIR) imaging to capture vein structures beneath the skin, it also combines RGB visible-light imaging to capture palm surface texture and palm-print details. This creates a dual-mode biometric architecture that uses both palm print and palm vein recognition together.
Under the current default algorithm thresholds, the two biometric modalities perform as follows:
- RGB Palm Print Recognition: FRR@FAR = 1.002% @ 1e-6
- NIR Palm Vein Recognition: FRR@FAR = 1.52% @ 1e-6
This means that each modality on its own already reduces the false acceptance rate to approximately one in a million. In the X-Telcom system, both modalities must pass authentication together. A false match can only occur if both modes fail at the same time, resulting in a combined probability at approximately one in one hundred billion.
How Palm Vein Recognition Works at X-Telcom
Unlike traditional single-mode biometrics, X-Telcom uses RGB visible-light imaging plus NIR infrared imaging in a dual-mode fusion system. The device captures two independent biometric signals from the same palm at the same time.

Data Privacy and Security
All palm vein data and images are encrypted using AES-256 and stored only on the customer’s own local or cloud servers. X-Telcom does not manage, access, or store any biometric data. Data transmission is protected using HTTPS (HTTP over SSL). Cloud storage uses AES-256 CBC encryption. Data is encrypted when written and decrypted only when read.
